BISMARCK, ND – A new elections results website will provide additional features for the public to access June 9 Primary Election results. It has an enhanced user experience with options for filtering and viewing contest results.

Secretary of State Michael Howe acknowledges the importance of making election results readily accessible. ”Election night is always an exciting night for candidates, voters, and all of North Dakota. This new website provides a more modern and interactive map that I feel North Dakotans will find useful in analyzing and receiving election results.”

Results are refreshed every 10 minutes and there are different ways to find information. Users can enter a city name, candidate name, or contest name to find results. Filters can be set for election type, jurisdiction, contest category and specific races to help users narrow results, and a filter can also be set to show close races that may result in possible recounts.

A new interactive map provides a visual representation of election results. It allows users to click on an individual county to view its results. If the filter is set to Legislative, the map changes to show legislative districts. The map will change once results start being added to reflect majority party results. Red shades will be for Republican majority and blue shades will be for Democrat majority. Darker shades of the colors will indicate stronger margins.

To watch specific contests, there is an option to mark it as a favorite. This places it in a separate list in the Favorites tab so it can quickly be accessed throughout election night.

Users can download election results in different formats from the menu in the upper right corner of the website. They also can use this menu to view absentee and early voting numbers and results from past elections.

Unofficial results for the 2026 Primary Election will be reported by counties and available in the Election Results website after polls close on June 9.
